- Students will need at least a practice pad at home to begin. Students can also play at home on electronic or acoustic drum sets.
- Students already in, or hoping to join school jazz bands or other groups on drum set would benefit from the feel of an acoustic drum set or at least a higher-end electronic set.
- Depending on student goals, consider at least an inexpensive electronic drum set to start or plan to get one soon.
- Jim is happy to offer suggestions and advice on selections, as well as help with the purchase and set-up process if necessary.
- Jim has instruction books and materials available for every experience level, and can provide them at cost.
- Jim also maintains a small inventory of sticks and other similar material available at cost.
